GORD SMITH, R.C.A.
Note:
Creating sculptures since his childhood, the artist’s exploration of light, texture and shadow has mainly represented the themes of humankind, its relationship to nature, its destiny, and the overall interconnectedness of the universe. Smith’s success in electrically welded and bronze sculpture led to the Canadian Government awarding the artist with the largest artistic commission at Expo ‘67 in Montreal. His work is represented in major collections across Canada including the National Gallery of Canada and the Montreal Museum of Fine Art.
