Well-known for his animal life pictures, Moore began sketching outdoors in 1914 with membersof an informal group of artists called The Ramblers Sketch Club. During the 1930’s - 40’s he contributed over 3700 animal illustrations to the Washington Evening Star’s syndicated series, “Nature’s Children”. He also illustrated nature books and did portraits of pets of leading Washingtonians. He taught etching at Clara Hill School of Art, Washington, D.C.
